Cheating winning mail and phone number

I received a mail from onf@sify.com, it's subject and message were "N/A" and "View attached file for claims" respectively. It had contained a document (.docx). The file contains the below information

We are Pleased to inform you that you have won a prize money of500,000.00 with Apple laptop
by GoogleGmail Lottery inconjunction with the Microsoft CORPORATION. We collects all the email
addresses of the people that are active online, Among the millions that subscribed to Google and
various Microsoft window users, we only select thirteen people every year as our winners,we
are congratulating you for being one of them. However you will have to fill and submit the below
information to the events manager

    1. I think, they want to collect your personal information to convince that you have won the prize. Later, they may ask you to deposit money in their account for the processing fee or something else. I you deposited then they will discontinue the communication. Their aim is only that they want to collect money from people somehow. They will not give you any cash prize. There are so many people who got cheated with this kind of mails/sms.

  3. i got an email from them but it was blank and it came with an attached .doc file named gg, which are my initials. i didn't open the file though because im scared it might be a virus

    1. If you use Linux OS, there won't be any security issue. Post the contents (in gg.doc) here. Somebody may also have got the same doc, so posting it may help them.

  8. I received a email today with pretty much asking and telling me ALL THE SAME information. Thankfully I'm smart enough to know it is a scam but there's a lot of ppl who fall victim to these scammers please do not reply or send none of ur info to these scrums.
